Updated June 4th, 2020:
Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, Little Brothers - Friends of the Elderly (LBFE) is taking the utmost precaution by limiting in-person contact between volunteers and the older adults we serve. As the situation changes, we will adjust program protocols according to recommendations by the City and County of San Francisco's Department of Public Health. The health and safety of our older adults and volunteers are our number one priority.
During this unprecedented time, we want to ensure that our older adults do not feel more socially isolated. We are currently offering to our older adults friendly phone calls from volunteers that reach out at least twice a week. Our existing Visiting Volunteer Program, R.I.D.E. Program, and MISCI Program are able to continue remotely. Additionally, we are offering grocery and prescription delivery assistance, peer-to-peer social calls (elders connect with one another), and sending care packages to our older adults.
LBFE referrals for older adults remain open and we are able to include those waiting to be assessed in our social calls.
If you are interested in volunteering with LBFE in any capacity listed above or to inquire about additional opportunities, please reach out to Volunteer Coordinator, Debbie Uchida at duchida@littlebrotherssf.org.

The older adults in our community are vulnerable right now and need your help more than ever. If you would like to help your community by purchasing a care kit for an LBFE older adult, please click here. These kits will be filled with the essentials they need including toiletries, cleaning supplies, and treats.
If you have any questions or concerns, please call 415-771-7957. Thank you and take care!
