What to Expect When Volunteering with Little Brothers

It’s easy to start helping provide companionship, outreach, and advocacy for isolated and homebound elderly people in San Francisco.

Our Visiting Volunteer program is the core of our volunteer activities. Volunteers who wish to take part in this program are paired with an elder, whom they visit 2 to 3 times per month in the elder’s home (or a walk outside). Volunteers and elders trade stories and simply enjoy each others company.

For those who do not have the time to visit every week, or who wish to try visiting an elder before committing to the Visiting Volunteer program, Little Brothers has regularly scheduled events, including Thanksgiving and Christmas Days.  The pictures above give you a sense of what to expect from a visit.  We would be more than happy to talk to you more about the opportunities we have available and to answer any of your questions.
